What I Ate in New York City

THE GREY DOG

Where: 244 Mulberry Street - Nolita
What I Ate: egg sandwich croissant
Verdict: the best potatoes I've ever eaten - the perfect amount of spice and crispyness

MERCADITO
Where: 179 Avenue B - East Village
What I Ate: pollo tacos
Verdict: margarita wasn't up to par but the corn and chicken tacos were excellent and there were four of them!

MUDSPOT

Where: 307 E 9th Street - East Village
What I Ate: almond french toast
Verdict: maybe the best french toast I've ever had and non-traditional too, the flavor of an almond croissant mixed with maple syrup and cinnamon

EL COLMADO

Where: 600 11th Ave - Gotham West Market - Hell's Kitchen
What I Ate: Pimientos, Gambas al Ajillo
Verdict: a snack at most- don't eat here if you are starving, but great tapas that made me branch out of my food comfort zone

PUNCH RESTAURANT

Where: 913 Broadway - Flatiron
What I Ate: chicken club
Verdict: incredible flavor for a fairly standard dish, with the most-natural tasting homemade potato chips

BLACK SEED BAGELS

Where: 170 Elizabeth Street - Nolita
What I Ate: salt bagel and raspberry jam
Verdict: hands down the best bagel and jam I've ever had - if you want a bagel that leans more toward crispy bread and not super chewy, this is the one for you

NOM WAH TEA PARLOR

Where: 13 Doyers Street - Chinatown
What I Ate: too many things...
Verdict: delicious simple fried rice, cheap hot tea and great pork/shrimp dumplings

SARABETH'S

Where: 40 Central Park S - Midtown
What I Ate: flat & fluffy french toast
Verdict: incredible traditional french toast, perhaps just not as well done and crispy as I would like but a total tourist must

WESTVILLE

Where: 333 Hudson Street- Hudson Square
What I Ate: grilled salmon + 2 market sides
Verdict: favorite meal in NYC - fresh ingredients, healthy dishes and a great urban atmosphere
